DIRECTOR’S REPORT JULY 2025
June 3: Books for Lunch-Soup for the body and books for the mind. Members review and recommend books to other members. Also new acquisitions of the library are announced and upcoming programs are announced.
June 12: Let’s Discuss Book Club: Book of the month is: The Secrets of Midwives by Sarah Hepworth. A story that involves three generations of women as their secrets are revealed that has an effect on all of their lives. There is no Let’s Discuss Book Club meeting in July. The next meeting will be August 14 and the title of the book is The Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristin Harmel
June 16: Sign-up for Summer Reading begins. This year the program is broken into three levels. Level one is Toddler – 10 year olds. Level two is the Juvenile for the 10 to 12 year olds and finally the Teen level for 13 year olds up to the coming school year’s high school Seniors.
The them for the Summer Reading is Color Our World. The programs will include crafts such as Tye-Dying T-shirts, making a Bird Feeder with Popcycle sticks along with Joel Tacey’s Magic Show and the ARK Association talking about animal rescue and having some of the animals for the children to see. As always, we will end the Summer Reading with our annual picnic.
June 30: Sign-up for Summer Reading ends. A total of 77 children have registered for the program. We would like to thank the Friends of the Library for their support of the program financially. The entire program was paid for from the money acquired from Book Nook sales over the past year.
June: Streamline has begun working on our new webpage. One major change will have our phone number in the header so our patrons can easily find our number to contact us. The go live date is tentatively August I. The director is working with the Streamline staff getting the page set up.
